DESCRIPTION: EPW - Victor Kullberg, made and signed for "W. Weichert, Cardiff," high grade free-sprung keyless lever reverse fusee with winding indicator, 50mm, heavy 18K gold original HC bearing London hallmarks for 1874, "J M" marking in oval cameo for casemaker John Martin, white enamel DS dial, SW-nail-set via small tab protruding under bezel near 4, fully capped lever escapement with free-sprung balance, diamond endstone, 19-21J, gilt mvt, s#2786 with matching serial number to dial. Gross weight of assembled watch 80.9 dwt (125.7 g). This movement is attributed to Kullberg as it features a characteristically Kullberg and as our knowledgeable consignor verifies that the serial number has been confirmed in Kullberg's records which are held in the Guildhall Library in London.
CONDITION: Mvt: Ticking sluggishly, overhaul recommended, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some scattered micro-fine scratches, plates with mild ultra-fine scratch striations likely from a past light wiping; virtually flawless dial with few minuscule pinpoint nicks to rim of seconds-register hole; excellent hands; case shows medium wear, some fine scratches and profuse micro-fine scratches, dent to right perimeter of front, some scattered dings, front hinge missing end caps; tight bow thinned a bit at top, crown shows ample wear; good glass crystal.
